Who am I?

I’m a proud parent to my daughter and a self-taught developer with a healthy dose of imposter syndrome.

I started out doing basic web development before moving into a full-stack role to work on internal CMS. Working with the web technologies of the time, I quickly figured out their limitations and found some answers in frontend frameworks like AngularJS. I ended up to be one of the guys who led the Angular 2 adoption.

Later, I moved to a new job as a backend developer working in Golang, but quickly dipped my feet into DevOps waters. This included managing Kubernetes resources on AKS using Helm, Helmfile, and Ansible, as well as GitLab CI job management (SDLC). During that time I also created gitlab-ci-ls, an open-source language server for GitLab CI to ease the pain managing large Gitlab CI configurations.

Between all of that, I also earned my Azure Administration certification and participated in the Locked Shields cyber defense exercises multiple times. Lastly, I decided to build upon my cybersecurity knowledge by tackling the OSCP+ certification, which I officially obtained in the winter of 2024. Today, I work as a security engineer who still has a huge passion for coding.

But when I’m not struggling to learn new things, I enjoy hurting my knees running.

What you’ll find here

I started this blog to create a space where I can share my enthusiasm for cybersecurity and tech in general. My goal is to understand complex topics and then present them in a way that everyone can understand them.

I also occasionally get on stage to talk about this stuff. You can find a list of my past presentations over on my talks page.
